As you know, we have started remote learning and are using Google Classroom as a platform. To enroll students in their online classroom, please visit classroom.google.com and sign in using the username and password that was sent to you by your scholar’s teacher. If you don’t have your login information, please contact your scholar’s teacher or send us an email at bvms_ops@ascendlearning.org.

Per order of the Governor, the BVMS building will be closed until further notice. Remember that students can use a smartphone or tablet for remote learning. If your child does not have access to any devices, we will be mailing packets home on Mondays starting March 30th.
If you would like to get on the list, contact Director of Operations, Mr. Thompson.
Work packets and Summer packets
These are weekly work packets for scholars in lieu of online assignments. Please contact your scholar’s teacher to review. For your convenience, they will be mailed directly to your home. Contact the Director of Operations to get on the list.

Lexia Reading CORE5
Lexia is an individualized research-proven literacy computer program used at Bushwick Ascend. Scholars can also access Lexia at home at https://www.lexiacore5.com! Free online access is available for scholars to continue developing and practicing reading skills at home.

Learning A-Z is offering a FREE subscription to Raz-Kids and/or Headsprout to help learning continue while out of the physical classroom, in light of the coronavirus.
This offer is valid through the end of the school year.

Raz-Kids is a digital resource that provides a library of differentiated books students can use to practice reading wherever they are (Internet connection required).

Headsprout is an online K–5 reading program that adapts to the needs of the individual student. It is self-paced, which makes it ideal for at-home practice.
Scholastic Learn at Home
Scholastic's Learn at Home resources includes four separate learning experiences, each built around a thrilling, meaningful story or video. Scholars can complete on their own and with their families. Just find your scholar's grade level and let the learning begin here!

Spectrum and Optimum/Altice are
offering free broadband and wifi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum or Optimum.

Childcare options for children of first-responders
If you are a parent and work as a healthcare provider, FDNY, NYPD, OEM or other eligible front-line worker, there are Regional Enrichment Centers (RECs) set up for your children. For more information, eligible parents can complete the survey online here.
